Worked example: Ontario

On C$60,000 in Ontario, the estimate is about C$5,548 in federal tax, C$2,982 in provincial tax (including the Ontario Health Premium), C$3,362 in CPP and C$978 in EI. That leaves roughly C$47,130 a year.

What is included

The calculator uses 2026 federal and provincial brackets, the federal basic personal amount of $16,452 (tapering at high incomes), the CPP rate of 5.95% plus CPP2, and the EI rate of 1.63% (1.30% in Quebec). Ontario surtax and Health Premium are included. Quebec uses CPP rates as an approximation of QPP, and some credits, such as the Canada employment amount, are not included.
